What can I expect during treatment?
During treatment, the radio frequency energy is delivered through a 1cm2 tip with 36 fine, gold-plated needles (only 0.12mm for comfort). By using the insulated needles on 3D Dermaforce, it allows us to target both the deep dermis and epidermal layers of the skin because the energy is emitted throughout the entire surface area.
The radio-frequency wave penetrates the basal melanocyte barrier, heating the collagen fibres in the dermis to 55°C-65°C. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process and cell turnover increases as the body heals, resulting in the production of collagen and elastin in these areas.
How long does 3D Dermaforce treatment take?
Treatment times typically range from 20-60 minutes depending on the size of the area.
How many treatment sessions are recommended?
Although results can be seen following a one-off treatment, a course of three treatments is typically recommended for optimal results.
What conditions are contraindicated for 3D Dermaforce?
The 3D Dermaforce device uses gold plated needles making it suitable for clients with metal allergies.
Any underlying medical condition, medications, or implants which may make you unsuitable will be determined during the consultation.
If you are pregnant or breast feeding, you will not be able to have treatment with radiofrequency.
Does 3D Dermaforce hurt?
Depending on the area being treated, we can apply a topical anaesthetic or numbing cream to ensure you are comfortable during treatment.
3D Dermaforce uses a 1cm square treatment head with 36 fine, gold-plated needles (0.12mm each) for delivery of the radiofrequency. It comes with a stepping motor for extra patient comfort which allows the needles to be smoothly inserted into the skin at a controlled depth (from 0.5mm to 4.5mm depending on the treatment required) in 0.1mm steps.
Expect to feel a warm sensation during the treatment.
Is there downtime after a microneedling and RF treatment?
You should expect some redness and minor swelling for 24-72 hours after treatment with 3D Dermaforce. Mild bruising is also possible. Your skin may feel tender to the touch and dry for a week or so. Full aftercare advice will be provided.
When will I see results?
You will start to see results after your initial treatment, and these will improve with subsequent sessions during the course. Individual results will vary.
The thickness or plumpness of your skin will increase due to the stimulation of new collagen, improving lines, wrinkles, and poor skin texture, or scarring. Skin tone and mild pigmentation concerns will improve over time. Skin elasticity will improve to correct loose skin or improve stretch marks.
How long do the results of microneedling with RF last?
Results are expected to last up to 2 years. An annual maintenance treatment, once per year is recommended to maintain results.
